Whilst Ramadan tends to make the pace of life slower in the Emirate, plenty of events still occur throughout the month.

From Iftars and Suhoors at the beginning of the month to theatrical shows and an international book festival toward the end, there is plenty this April in Abu Dhabi.

The Eid Al-Fitr holiday in the middle of the month will be an opportunity for a staycation or getaway. So without further ado, let’s dive into all of the incredible events and offers in Abu Dhabi this April.

Tapas, Tardeo & Happy Hour at Diablito, Yas Marina Through April

Impossible Show, Multiple Dates Through April

Experience the magic of Drummond Money-Coutts at Abu Dhabi’s exclusive DMC Theatre in the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.

Fontana Circus, Multiple Dates Through April

Fontana’s Musical Fountain and mesmerizing circus acts return to the capital this year. It was a huge hit in 2023 as the weather warmed up over the summer it is the ideal indoor activity for kids and adults alike.

This show features sensational water displays synchronised with music and circus performances. From aerialists to dancers, marking this in your calendar for April 2024.

The tent will be based in Yas Island this year; make sure to book tickets in advance. Children aged 2 and under enter for free, but all others require a valid ticket.

Eid Al Fitr 8-14th Of April

The public sector has announced a week-long holiday in Abu Dhabi from the 8th until the 10th of April. We are expecting further announcements for Eid concerts and celebrations in the capital.

However, right now we know there will be firework displays on Al Hudayriyat Yas Marina and Yas Bay over the holiday.

Eid Dinner at Sahha, Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi

Saudi Super Cup, April 8-11th

In a groundbreaking collaboration between the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, this year’s Saudi Super Cup soccer event will be hosted in the Emirates.

It’s a historic move facilitated by a broader sponsorship agreement between the Abu Dhabi tourism department and SAFF, marking the tournament’s first venture outside Saudi Arabia.

Farahat & The Family Play, April 12th & 13th

Join Mohamed Henedi as he humorously navigates through societal issues, aiming to raise awareness across all age groups.

This social narrative, delivered comedically, offers insight into negative social changes and external interventions.

The play underscores the importance of productive efforts in serving the nation and achieving personal success.

Children under the age of 4 can attend free of charge, while those aged 4 and above require a valid entry ticket. Tickets will be sent closer to the event date. Doors open at 7 pm, and the show starts at 8 pm.

Scooby-Doo & The Lost City Of Gold, April 12th to 14th

Do your kids love Scooby-Doo? They will love The Lost City of Gold show this April in Abu Dhabi.

Yuri Bashmet and The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia will perform this April in Abu Dhabi.

The program includes pieces by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, along with famous opera arias performed by leading Bolshoi singers.

Atrasa, April 26th

Don’t miss “Atrasa” by the Modern Theater Group in Abu Dhabi, a children’s play emphasizing the importance of time management.

Written by Sultan Bin Dafon and directed by Omar Al Mulla, this performance teaches kids about utilizing time efficiently to achieve goals and avoid stress. Suitable for children aged 2 +, this show makes for a perfect family day out.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, April 28th

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, based on Eric Carle’s timeless classics, has captivated audiences globally for over seven years.

Jonathan Rockefeller created this production with over 75 magical puppets, including the iconic star, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Alongside this main character, the show brings to life three other Eric Carle stories with storytelling, original music, and stunning puppetry. It’s suitable for children aged 1 and up.
