A community of women gathered at Quwa Wellness Club in Khalifa City on 21 June for an uplifting afternoon dedicated to movement, wellbeing, and meaningful conversation.
Hosted in collaboration with The ARKAN Life, the women-only event welcomed guests on Sunday afternoon for a programme that combined fitness sessions, expert-led discussions, nourishing food, and the chance to connect with others on a similar wellness journey.
Exploring Their Own Versions of Wellness
Founded on the belief that prevention should be accessible, The ARKAN Life is an initiative that aims to provide health and wellness directly into community spaces.
Built around four key pillars, movement, recovery, nutrition and knowledge, the goal is to help people make sustainable lifestyle choices that support longevity, resilience, and overall health.
Throughout the day, one idea kept resurfacing: there is no single definition of wellness. For some attendees, wellness meant challenging themselves in a high-energy workout. For others, it meant slowing down, listening to their bodies, or simply making time for a daily walk.

The event created space for women to explore what wellbeing looks like for them individually, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach that can sometimes be communicated.
Guests took part in a variety of classes, including reformer Pilates, spinning, a strength HITT workout, giving everyone the opportunity to discover movement styles aligned with their goals and preferences.
Alongside the classes, recovery the contrast therapy played a role in the afternoon’s offering, which included ice bath and sauna sessions, where participants were encouraged to reset and rest post-workout.

A Conversation Led by Expertise
One of the standout moments of the afternoon came during a keynote session with Dr Rahat Ghazanfar, Clinical Director of Longevity and Lifestyle Medicine at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City.
Drawing on her expertise in preventive healthcare and lifestyle medicine, Dr Ghazanfar explored the building blocks and pillars that support long-term health, focusing on sleep, nutrition, stress management, exercise and social connection.
Her session encouraged attendees to look beyond trends and headlines and instead build habits that are sustainable and meaningful in their own lives.
Shilpa Kudekara was on hand to provide sound healing guidance to the ladies. Offering her experience as a Sound Alchemist, she was able to show how the use of sound, frequency, and vibration as a therapeutic catalyst can transform the listener’s mental and physical state.

Positive Energy from Start to Finish
What truly set the afternoon apart was the atmosphere created by the women who attended the event. From the first class to the final conversations, there was a sense of encouragement and positivity throughout the occasion.
Alongside the fitness and educational sessions, guests enjoyed wholesome recipe ideas provided by Fitt Meals, which showcased their butter chicken and Snickers overnight oats, proving that healthy eating can be both nourishing and enjoyable.
By the end of the afternoon, attendees left with more than wellness tips and fitness inspiration. They left with new connections, fresh perspectives, and a reminder that the most successful wellness journey is the one that works for you.
