This November, Abu Dhabi’s former airport terminal will once again welcome the inspiring NOMAD, bringing an international selection of contemporary art and collectable design to one of the capital’s most distinctive architectural landmarks.
NOMAD’s history is pure: it became a travelling art and design fair with an unconventional approach to its surroundings. Rather than relying on purpose-built exhibition halls, the fair selects architecturally significant locations and adapts its programme to each setting.
Its Abu Dhabi edition will return to the former Terminal 1, an iconic building that once served as a gateway for travellers arriving in the capital. Its combination of the building’s history and NOMAD’s programme gives the event a character that goes beyond a conventional gallery visit and becomes an occasion people note in their diaries.

A Successful Return
The fair first arrived in Abu Dhabi in 2025, bringing together galleries and creative institutions from the UAE and further afield. The inaugural edition featured exhibitors from cities including Paris, Milan, Istanbul, Cairo, and Athens, alongside local participation.
Following that debut, NOMAD returns for a second Abu Dhabi edition, underlining the city’s growing place on the international art and cultural calendar. The fair’s wider programme is designed to encourage connections between galleries and the creative community, as the city once again proves its dedication to global artists.
