The UAE will celebrate Emirati Women’s Day for a whole month in 2026. In honour of all the contributions women have made to the country, Mother of the Nation HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak announced last week that the festivities will continue for a month starting Friday, 28 August 2026.
HH Sheikha Fatima said the occasion is about recognising achievements, encouraging new initiatives, and celebrating women who are helping to shape the country’s future. She added that Emirati women are not only individual success stories but also integral to the country’s continued development.
Emirati Women’s Day is celebrated each year on 28 August. It is an important day to highlight progress in women’s well-being, gender equality, and women’s achievements in the country.

Sheikha Fatima also unveiled the 2026 slogan, “We Emerge Stronger and Better,” saying it reflects the UAE’s spirit and its ambitious vision for the future.

National institutions have been called on to adopt advanced approaches to support women. This includes flexibility for working mothers and caregivers of senior citizens and people of determination. The measures are aimed at helping women balance family responsibilities with their careers while maintaining workplace productivity.
Throughout the month, community groups will organise an array of activities to honour Emirati women. These will include panel discussions, networking events, cultural workshops, and community initiatives. The spotlight will also be on women who have made major impacts across government, business, science, the arts, and many other fields.
