Ryan Reynolds is coming to Abu Dhabi this year and is bringing some pretty big ideas with him. The Hollywood star and entrepreneur is among the first names announced for LIVEX 2026, a brand-new event looking at how cities can become better places to live and build a future.
He’ll be joined by fellow actor and environmental advocate Adrien Grenier, alongside a packed line-up of international voices from business, technology, culture, and most significantly, sustainability.
What is LIVEX?
Making its debut in Abu Dhabi, LIVEX, short for the Livability and Investment Exhibition, is a concept designed to bring together the people and ideas influencing the next generation of cities.
Rather than concentrating solely on property or infrastructure, the event takes a much broader view of what makes somewhere a great place to call home. Its programme is built around six areas: liveability, culture, education, economy, energy, and health.
More than 100 speakers are expected to take part, bringing together policymakers and urban development experts from around the world.
Why Ryan Reynolds and Adrien Grenier?
Reynolds might be best known for his Hollywood career, but his interests stretch well beyond the screen. As an actor and entrepreneur, he brings business and investment acumen to a conversation about how people and communities are shaping the future.
Grenier, meanwhile, offers a different perspective. The actor has become increasingly associated with environmental advocacy and more conscious approaches to living, including his work with Earth Speed Media and the United Nations Environment Programme.
It makes the pair an interesting fit for an event asking a simple but increasingly important question: what will make our cities better places to live?
When is LIVEX happening?
The inaugural LIVEX 2026 will take place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi from 29 September to 1 October. With more than 20,000 attendees expected from over 50 countries, Abu Dhabi is set to become a meeting point for people thinking about what comes next, with a little Hollywood star power thrown in.
