Awqaf Abu Dhabi has earned a Guinness World Records title after its Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans campaign raised AED 3.3 billion during Ramadan.
Launched by the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority, the campaign set a record for the most money raised for charity through annuity pledges in one month.
The milestone makes it one of the UAE’s largest humanitarian endowment initiatives supporting orphans. Awqaf Abu Dhabi marked the achievement at a ceremony attended by senior officials, partners and campaign supporters.
The Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans campaign was launched to establish a sustainable endowment fund for orphan care, converting community contributions into long-term support. The returns from the endowment are allocated to support education, healthcare, and a higher quality of life for orphaned children.
His Excellency Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Secretary General of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, remarked that the achievement reflects the values of the UAE Year of Family. The initiative reinforces the use of endowment as a sustainable development tool that supports community priorities. Mainly, it aligns with the UAE’s vision for humanitarian and charitable work going forward.
