Abu Dhabi’s entertainment landscape is preparing for another major milestone, as plans for Sphere Abu Dhabi have officially been revealed.
Set to open on Yas Island in 2029, the next-generation venue will bring immersive live entertainment experiences to the capital on a scale never seen before in the region.
Following the global attention surrounding the Las Vegas Sphere, Abu Dhabi will become home to the second Sphere destination worldwide, adding yet another headline attraction to the emirate’s rapidly growing entertainment scene.

A New Era of Entertainment for Abu Dhabi
Sphere venues are designed to completely rethink the traditional live entertainment experience. Known for their enormous digital exteriors and immersive interiors, the spaces combine ultra-high-definition visuals and interactive technology to create experiences that go far beyond a standard show.
While official design details for the Abu Dhabi venue are still limited, early reports suggest the project will feature large-scale entertainment productions alongside experiences inspired by local culture and storytelling, as the city aims to continue supporting local talent in the region.
Yas Island Continues to Expand
The announcement marks another significant addition for Yas Island, which has become one of the UAE’s leading destinations for entertainment and tourism.
Already occupying attractions including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and soon to be home to Disneyland Abu Dhabi, the island continues to attract major international projects and experiences.
With Sphere Abu Dhabi now officially sighted in the distance, the capital’s entertainment offering is set to become even more ambitious over the coming years, and 2029 is already shaping up to be a huge year for Yas Island.
