Abu Dhabi Is Getting a Lot Greener With 14 million Flowers and Four New Parks

Despite common misconceptions, Abu Dhabi is becoming greener by the day, and the capital is continuing to find new ways to bring even more colour and outdoor spaces into everyday city life.

More than 14 million seasonal flowers have now been planted across Abu Dhabi, alongside the opening of four new neighbourhood parks, giving residents reasons to head outside during the cooler periods.

Millions Of Flowers Transforming the City

This enormous planting programme stretches across Abu Dhabi’s urban areas, with flowers added to roadsides, roundabouts, public squares, and other landscaped areas, allowing residents to take in the impressive work.

The result is a city-wide splash of seasonal colour, with carefully maintained floral displays adding to the capital’s already purpose-made collection of greenery.

But the project is about more than simply making the city look beautiful. Expanding planted areas and maintaining attractive public spaces forms part of the municipality’s wider efforts to create a greener, more enjoyable urban environment for the people of Abu Dhabi.

Four New Fareej Parks Have Arrived

Abu Dhabi’s green makeover does not stop at flowerbeds. Four new Fareej neighbourhood parks have opened in Al Falah, Al Samha, Al Rahba and Al Bahia, putting recreational facilities directly within local communities.

These parks have been designed for a mixture of ages and interests, featuring areas for children, sports facilities, fitness spaces and places to unwind on a cool day.

There are also multi-use courts and padel facilities, meaning these are spaces designed to be used rather than just be admired.

A Greener Abu Dhabi

Together, the flower planting, new parks, and upgrades to existing recreational spaces highlight Abu Dhabi’s continued investment in its public realm.

It is another small but noticeable step towards a capital where greenery and community life are woven into significant spaces around the region. With 14 million flowers now adding a little extra colour, Abu Dhabi is certainly looking more in bloom.
