Renewed regional tensions across the Gulf Region have led to many UAE flight cancellations. Many airlines have delayed or even cancelled their flights to these countries. These include Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan.
On the whole, 16 UAE-operated flights were cancelled on Monday, 20 July, more are expected throughout the remainder of the week.
Which Airlines Have Cancelled Flights?
Etihad Airways has extended cancellations for flights EY653 and EY654 from Zayed International Airport (AUH), Abu Dhabi to Kuwait International Airport (KWI) until Sunday, 26 July. For Bahrain, flights EY647 and EY648 to and from the UAE capital to Bahrain International Airport (BAH) are cancelled Thursday, 23 July to Saturday, 25 July.
The airline’s teams are offering affected passengers assistance with alternative travel arrangements. Passengers are urged to update their contact details for flight notifications via SMS or email.
Emirates has cancelled multiple flights to Kuwait, namely flights EK853, EK855, EK857, and EK859. For Bahrain, cancelled flights are EK835, EK837, and EK839 for 23 July. The airline has advised passengers to use online check-in services and baggage drop facilities for a hassle-free journey.
Thirdly, flydubai has cancelled multiple flights. Flights FZ023, FZ021 and FZ027 from Dubai to Bahrain on Tuesday and Wednesday. For Kuwait, flights from Dubai are still expected as per schedules, but passengers must check the latest updates before travelling.
The airline has urged passengers to be timely, reminding them that check-in counters close an hour before scheduled departure unless otherwise stated via SMS or email.
Finally, Air Arabia has multiple UAE flight cancellations on several routes to Kuwait and Bahrain.
