Etihad Rail is soon to open two new important stations this year in Abu Dhabi. The Madinat Zayed and Liwa passenger stations will now open on Monday, 30 November, instead of Wednesday, 30 December.
The two stations will be located in Al Dhafra and will offer passengers across the UAE easy access to the annual Al Dhafra Festival. The festival’s 20th edition will be held between 27 October 2026 and 13 January 2027.
Located approximately 180 kilometres to the southwest of Abu Dhabi city, Madinat Zayed is among the biggest towns in the UAE and the largest in the Al Dhafra administrative centre. The Liwa station will provide an easier link to Abu Dhabi’s desert areas, making holidays and day trips much easier.

Opening Schedule for Etihad Rail Passenger Stations
