Construction company ALEC has officially been awarded the main construction contract for the highly anticipated Sphere Abu Dhabi.
Valued at approximately $1.7 billion, the project is expected to become one of the capital’s most ambitious developments to date and is set to be completed by 2029.
ALEC Takes on One of the UAE’s Biggest Projects
Under the agreement, ALEC Engineering and Contracting will lead the construction and delivery of the landmark development.
Based in Dubai and known for working on several major projects across the UAE, the company will now oversee one of the region’s most technically advanced entertainment builds.
With construction preparations now moving forward, Sphere Abu Dhabi is already generating significant attention both locally and internationally. Once complete, the venue is expected to become a defining feature of Yas Island’s skyline.

Once completed, the destination will host immersive productions using next-generation technology designed to surround audiences with sound and visuals from every angle.
This unique project forms part of a wider partnership between Sphere Entertainment and the Department of Culture and Tourism, with plans to create a venue that blends architecture, innovation, and large-scale entertainment under one exceptional roof.
