Abu Dhabi Sets Another Guinness World Record with 200kg UAE Flag

Abu Dhabi has marked another standout moment of unity with a brand-new Guinness World Record.

People from 64 nationalities came together to carry a giant UAE flag weighing more than 200kg on a rainy evening on Hudayriat Island.

The striking initiative brought together residents of all ages and backgrounds in a shared celebration of community spirit and national pride.

A Record Powered by Diversity

The record-breaking attempt saw over 150 participants carry an 85-metre-long flag across a 100-metre stretch, to secure the title for the most nationalities carrying a single banner.

The effort surpassed the previous benchmark, highlighting not only the scale of the challenge but also the strength found in collaboration.

Participants included families, children, and professionals from various sectors, and were all united by a common goal; to show that no matter where in the world you are from, you can live and work side by side.

More than a Moment on the World Stage

Staged as part of the Burjeel Games, the initiative was designed to go beyond record-breaking and instead spotlight a deeper message of unity.

Held under the theme “Our Nation, Our Heartbeat,” the activity encouraged participants to come together in a meaningful tribute to the country.

What made this more special was the involvement of healthcare workers, which added another layer of significance and recognised their role within the community.

A Symbol of the UAE’s Spirit

While the Guinness World Record title is a notable achievement, the wider impact lies in what it represents.

With more than 200 nationalities calling the UAE home, the event served as a reminder of the country’s inclusive environment and strong sense of togetherness.
