Partial road closure announced on two key Abu Dhabi routes

Calling all motorists – there’s an important update! A major partial road closure is announced on two key routes in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Mobility took to X to announce the scheduled road closures, one on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (E10) and the other on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street (E12). The partial road closure is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance traffic flow and improve road safety.

According to the authority, a partial road closure of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (E10) towards Corniche will begin on Friday, October 10, at 10 pm, and continue until Monday, October 20, at 5 am.

The closure will be implemented in two phases.

In the first phase, three left lanes towards Corniche will be closed from October 10 to October 14 (10 pm). In the second phase, two right lanes in the same direction will remain closed from October 14 (10 pm) until October 20 (5 am).

Motorists are, as always, advised to drive slow, use alternate routes and plan their journeys in advance.

Meanwhile, a separate partial road closure will affect Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street (E12) near Yas Island, with lane reductions scheduled over the weekend.

Three left lanes towards Dubai will be closed from Friday, October 10 (10 pm) to Saturday, October 11 (4 pm), followed by the closure of three right lanes from Saturday, October 11 (10 pm) to Sunday, October 12 (4 pm).

Abu Dhabi Mobility urged drivers to follow traffic signs, observe reduced speed limits, and exercise caution near work zones to ensure the safety of all road users.

Road safety has long been paramount in Abu Dhabi, with regular enhancement projects such as this one being placed in effect. Additionally, there have also been changes to DARB toll timings, new fines and laws in place, etc, to ensure maximum safety of both motorists and pedestrians across the emirate.
