Ready for another long weekend? The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has confirmed a public holiday marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The date confirmed is Friday, September 5, 2025 (12th of Rabi Al Awwal), which will be a public holiday for federal government employees to mark the occasion.
This means government employees will enjoy an extended three-day weekend as the occasion aligns with the regular weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

The 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, is an occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide in a ritual called Mawlid. It is one of the most significant religious occasions for Muslims globally and is typically marked by cultural and spiritual celebrations.
