Two speed limit changes announced on key Abu Dhabi roads

With partial road closures in effect in parts of the UAE capital, there have also been speed limit changes announced on two Abu Dhabi roads.

The first being the speed limit on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road (E11), which has been changed from 160 km/h to 140 km/h.

Additionally, the limit on the Abu Dhabi-Sweihan Road (E20) has also been reduced from 120 km/h to 100 km/h as per the announcement by Abu Dhabi Mobility. Both changes in speeds come into effect on April 14, 2025.

The changes have been announced as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and reduce the number of serious accidents across the emirate.

With consistent road development projects being undertaken across the emirate, it is vital for motorists to check for alternative routes where required and plan ahead of time. With cameras always monitoring, it’s better to drive slower than not if unsure of speed limit changes on any given road – although there’s always signs put up!

Drive safe, Abu Dhabi.
