Love staying active? Lucky for you, there are plenty of running tracks in Abu Dhabi and running clubs as well – to keep moving and have fun!
From running tracks in Abu Dhabi city to the world-famous Yas Marina circuit (yes, that’s a running and cycling track too!) – there’s a route for every level of runner in the emirate.

And of course, we know running alone can get boring. As one of the many ways to socialise in town, running clubs in Abu Dhabi are a great avenue to meet new people with similar interests. Meet, greet, and set new PRs together.
All against the gorgeous UAE capital background, of course.
So what are you waiting for? Take a look at some of the most amazing running tracks in Abu Dhabi
The best running tracks in Abu Dhabi
Yas Marina Circuit
It’s not just F1 madness; Yas Marina Circuit is one of the world’s most epic race tracks for more than one reason. Yep, the circuit also doubles as a running track in Abu Dhabi, and even a cycling track on some days! Walk and run around the circuit as part of the TrainYAS and GoYAS by Daman ActiveLife programmes.
For more information, visit Yas Marina Circuit
Abu Dhabi Corniche
The Abu Dhabi Corniche is iconic for more than one reason, least of all being the breathtaking waterfront views. Over the years, the area has developed by leaps and bounds, with e-scooter and cycle rental options along the path if walking gets too much. Or if you’re simply looking to switch things up from the morning stroll.

Reem Island
Staying on or near Reem Island? You won’t be short of things to do both indoors and outdoors, and definitely not of running tracks. Start at Al Fay park and make your way north to Reem Beach, where you’ll find a running track that overlooks a pocket of the mangrove forest. There’s also variation in routes when it comes to the softness of the path, making it ideal for all skill levels.

Al Wathba Cycle Track
Al Wathba Cycle Track is, unsurprisingly, one of the most scenic when it comes to running tracks in Abu Dhabi. Designed for both cyclists and runners, the 30km track promises picturesque vistas, especially during sunrise and sunset. Well worth a stop at even if it’s out of your way!
Zayed Sports City
An iconic landmark in the UAE capital, the stadium is home to everything from basketball and beach volleyball facilities, to tennis courts, a football stadium and a fitness centre. As for runners, there are two completely different tracks to choose from. One is a 400m oval track, and the other is a 1.4km track which loops around. Come winter, there are plenty of events ongoing that you can register for!

Masdar City Running & Cycling Track
Stretching 5.6 km long, the Masdar City Running and Cycling Track is perfect for the entire family. Part of Masdar’s Al Mamsha trail, it’s a great way to explore a truly eco-friendly city while getting some exercise. Joggers working out here can take in sustainability landmarks around the city, and cyclists will find plenty of rental bike stations along the way.

Jebel Hafit Desert Park
Nothing says gorgeous views like the Jebel Hafit Desert Park in Al Ain. The nine-kilometre stretch at the base of the craggy Jebel Hafit mountain, Abu Dhabi’s tallest peak, can be explored while running, hiking, biking, horse riding or camel riding. However, it is advised to wait until winter to consider this particular running track.
Other options when it comes to running tracks in Abu Dhabi are Al Manhal Palace Bicycle/Jogging Track, Al Mushrif Palace Jogging Track, the MBZ Zone 7 cycling and walking track and more.
Running clubs in Abu Dhabi
Running tracks in Abu Dhabi are best supplemented by running clubs – a great way to interact with new people. From Abu Dhabi Striders, which has been around for a while, to newer additions, there are several opportunities to share and bond over the love for running.
If you’re not sure where to start, websites like Meetup and Internations are always a great way for expats new in town to find other runners and groups.

And given that most well-maintained running routes offer gorgeous views of the city and the skyline, you might as well pick the one closest to you and get sprinting!
