Motorists Get a Welcome Break as UAE Petrol Prices Set to Decrease in July

Drivers across Abu Dhabi can look forward to spending a little less on fuel this month, with the UAE announcing a reduction in petrol prices for July.

This latest adjustment ends four consecutive months of price rises and offers some welcome relief for commuters and anyone planning extra time on the road during the summer.

Petrol Prices Drop

Here’s What Drivers Will Pay from 1 July

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has released the new rates, which come into effect on Tuesday, 1 July.

The updated prices are:

  • Super 98 – AED 3.82 per litre
  • Special 95 – AED 3.71 per litre
  • E-Plus 91 – AED 3.64 per litre
  • Diesel – AED 3.87 per litre

All petrol grades are currently priced lower than they were in June, with diesel seeing a noticeable reduction.

What’s Behind the Price Drop?

With several contributing factors, fuel prices in the UAE are reviewed each month and are linked to movements in the international oil market.

After several months of upward pressure due to geopolitical issues, global crude prices have eased in recent weeks, allowing local fuel costs to reduce in July.

Although the savings per litre may seem modest, they’ll quickly add up for motorists who regularly fuel their engines or spend long hours behind the wheel as part of their daily commute.

Welcome News for Summer Travel

With schools closing for the holidays at the end of this week and many residents gearing up for road trips or daily summer outings, the timing of the latest price cut will be welcomed by those travelling across the emirate.

It’s the first time since February that fuel prices have moved in a downward direction, breaking a four-month streak of increases and giving residents and visitors in Abu Dhabi a welcome break at the pumps.
