Fancy swapping rollercoasters for running shoes? Ferrari World Yas Island is inviting women and girls to lace up this August for a very different kind of day out.
The Ladies Run returns on Sunday 30 August, bringing an all-female running event to the theme park as part of the celebrations for Emirati Women’s Day.
A Run with a Difference
Now in its third edition, the Ladies Run is designed to bring women together through fitness and togetherness.
There are three distances to choose from, so you don’t need to be a seasoned marathon runner to get involved. Participants can sign up for the 2.5km, 5km or 10km, whilst junior categories mean younger runners can join the fun too.
The 10km is made up of four laps, the 5km covers two, and the 2.5km offers a shorter one-lap option. The route takes runners through the iconic Ferrari World and Yas Mall, giving the event a luxurious feel.
Ladies Only
As the name suggests, this one is exclusively for female participants, as the event aims to provide a comfortable environment for runners, with female staff and volunteers operating within Ferrari World.
It’s all tied into Emirati Women’s Day, which takes place on 28 August, making the run a fitting way to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in the UAE.
Registration and Entry
Registration starts from AED 85 for junior runners, with adult entries ranging from AED 105 to AED 115 depending on the distance. Participants will receive an event T-shirt and finisher’s medal, with podium places up for grabs.
If you’re not quite ready to run, you can still soak up the atmosphere from the public areas around Yas Mall, where spectators can catch glimpses of the action.
Registration is currently open, although spaces are limited as race day approaches, so be sure to get those trainers out and get stretching.
