Al Whada 1 – 2 Al Jazira (20th February 2026)

After a tightly fought contest at the Al Nahyan Stadium, it was Al Jazira who struck late to take all three points. Al Jazira opened the scoring just before the hour mark, with Khalifa Alhammadi giving his team the lead.

With just ten minutes of normal time remaining, Al Whada thought they had secured a respectable point, with Omar Khribin keeping his composure from the penalty spot and leveling the score at 1-1.

But this league continues to create drama, and just two minutes later Al Jazira, took the lead through substitute Vinicius Mello.

FC Baniyas 2 – 3 Al Ain (22nd February 2026)

Al Ain refuse to give up in this epic title race this season, as they secured a critical win at the Bani Yas Stadium.

It was evident in the first half that this fixture was important. 0-0 at the break, both teams knew they had to approach the second half in a more positive manner. It was the bottom side who broke the deadlock with Youssoufou Niakate giving FC Baniyas the lead.

Al Ain struck back with two quick goals to put them ahead, looking set for another win on the road.

However, FC Baniyas hoped a win could be a catalyst to push them out of the relegation zone. But like so many times this season in the league, a late goal proved pivotal as El Houssien Rahmi gave Al Ain the lead to put them level points in top spot with Shabab Al Ahli.

Upcoming Fixtures – Gameweek 18:

The UAE Tour reached its conclusion on the roads of Abu Dhabi on the weekend.

After demanding stages, Isaac del Toro secured overall victory, delivering a composed performance. The decisive moment came on the summit finish at Jebel Hafeet, where his climbing strength created the time gap that ultimately proved decisive. He also set the new record with an incredible time of 25:32.

Riding for UAE Team Emirates XRG, Del Toro safely navigated the final stage into Abu Dhabi to confirm the title. The closing day produced a high-speed sprint finish, but the red jersey remained firmly on his shoulders.
