Some shows become famous. Others become cultural landmarks. Riverdance has managed to do both. More than three decades after it first burst onto the world stage, the celebrated Irish dance production is heading to Abu Dhabi.
With tickets still available to catch it live, the show arrives at Etihad Arena on Yas Island on 31 October and 1 November, giving Abu Dhabi audiences two chances to experience the celebrated production as part of its 30th Anniversary Tour.
It All Started with Seven Minutes
Riverdance’s story began in an unlikely place… the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin. A short interval performance featuring a group of Irish dancers quickly captured international attention, with Michael Flatley among the performers who put the routine firmly on the map.
That brief television appearance eventually grew into a full theatrical production, taking Irish dance far beyond its traditional setting and introducing its distinctive rhythm and energy to audiences worldwide.

Three Decades of Foot-Stomping Entertainment
Now celebrating 30 years, Riverdance continues to bring together intricate choreography and the unmistakable rapid-fire movements that have made the production so recognisable.
This special anniversary tour also gives the classic show a contemporary refresh, combining its familiar foundations with new elements and a fresh generation of performers to keep the crowd entertained.
Tickets For the Show
For anyone who has never experienced Riverdance, this Abu Dhabi appearance offers a chance to see one of the world’s most recognised dance productions in person. And with tickets still available, there’s no need to watch the famous footwork on a screen.
