Abu Dhabi Drivers Can Get Four Black Points Removed This August

If your driving licence has picked up a few unwanted black points, there’s a chance to clear four of them without heading to a service centre.

The UAE’s Accident-Free Day is scheduled for 31 August this month, and motorists who sign up and complete the challenge without any traffic violations could have four points deducted. Here’s the key info Abu Dhabi drivers need to know before the big day.

Sign Up for Accident-Free Day

Taking part is pretty straightforward. Registration has opened this week, with motorists able to access the campaign through the Ministry of Interior. You can access the link here: Ministry of Interior – United Arab Emirates.

Once logged in, participants must accept the safety commitments, agree to the terms and conditions, and sign the campaign pledge. A participation certificate will then be sent to the email address linked to your UAE Pass account.

You’ll Need to Register Before 31 August

The main event takes place on Monday 31 August, so make sure you’ve completed the registration process beforehand. There’s no need to turn up somewhere with a stack of documents, as the process is handled online and your UAE Pass is used to verify your participation.

The timing of this is deliberate. As 31 August marks the first day of the new academic year, roads around schools are expected to become busier with parents commuting and school buses returning after the summer break.

If you register and meet the campaign requirements, four black points will be deducted from your traffic record, with the wider aim to encourage motorists to slow down, stay alert, and make safer driving a habit well beyond this one day.
