Following the success of its inaugural edition, The Weekend Club by SECRET returned to the InterContinental Abu Dhabi on 27 June, welcoming guests for another carefully curated staycation that combined hospitality, dining, wellness, and entertainment under one five-star roof.
On Saturday morning, guests were welcomed with a dedicated club check-in and a glass of bubbles on arrival, setting the tone for a weekend centred on relaxation and memorable experiences.
Designed as an all-inclusive lifestyle escape rather than a traditional hotel stay, the latest edition featured a diverse programme of experiences, giving both first-time visitors and returning guests plenty to enjoy across the weekend.
An Expanded Line-Up of Experiences
Kicking off the weekend for the guests were a range of wellness-focused activities, massages, hair treatments, and beauty experiences, helping to create an engaging atmosphere straight from the get-go while showcasing some of InterContinental’s finest offerings.
Guests also had the opportunity to browse and purchase products from a selection of local businesses, including Andina Vogue, showcasing authentic handmade Ecuadorian hats and accessories, The Silk Route, featuring elegant silk clothing and scarves, and Yunited Beauty, offering a range of premium and natural beauty products.
Between all the fun, guests also had plenty of time to explore the hotel’s facilities, creating a balance between organised experiences and moments to simply relax.
A Brunch Created For The Weekend Club
A highlight of Saturday was an exclusive brunch at Chamas Churrascaria & Bar curated for The Weekend Club. Guests gathered for an afternoon centred around premium dining, free-flowing beverages, and live entertainment.
The Brazilian steakhouse served its signature selection of grilled meats alongside an extensive spread of dishes, creating a vibrant atmosphere that encouraged guests to settle in for the afternoon rather than rush through the service.
This vibrant gathering also gave attendees the opportunity to socialise with fellow guests before the evening programme began, reinforcing the community feel that has become a defining feature of The Weekend Club.
After-Party and World Cup Action at Belgian Café
As brunch came to a close, the celebrations continued at Chamas Bar, where the official after-party kept the energy high.
The DJ provided the soundtrack for the afternoon as guests made the most of exclusive drinks vouchers included as part of their Weekend Club package, while friendly rounds of drink pong added a competitive twist to proceedings.
For football fans, the evening offered another highlight. Guests were able to head over to the Belgian Café, where England were shown live on the big screens both inside and out. Complimentary bar snacks, included as part of the Weekend Club experience, ensured everyone could settle in and enjoy the match in true matchday style.
The venue’s lively atmosphere, combined with its extensive food and beverage offering, made it the perfect place to round off the first day of the staycation, bringing together fine hospitality and great company under one roof.
A Relaxed Sunday Finale
Sunday began on a more restorative note, with guests choosing between morning yoga and HIIT sessions.
The complimentary fitness classes offered the perfect opportunity to reset after Saturday’s celebrations, whether stretching into the day with yoga or opting for a more energetic workout.
Following the wellness sessions, guests enjoyed an extended breakfast at either Selections or the Belgian Café, where live cooking stations and a diverse menu meant there was no need to rush the morning.
With breakfast served until mid-afternoon, attendees could take things at their own pace before making the most of the hotel’s facilities.
Bayshore Beach Club was then called, where guests relaxed by the pool or on the private beach while the DJ provided the soundtrack to a laid-back summer afternoon, offering pure bliss.
Before checking out, guests came together one final time at the Belgian Café for its renowned Sunday roast, featuring a choice of traditional roast meats served with all the classic accompaniments, providing a traditional flavour on every bite.
