UAE Pro League Weekend Round-Up May 2026

With the Pro League season edging towards its conclusion, the penultimate weekend of fixtures delivered plenty of goals and standout performances across the country.

The supporters over the weekend were treated to an entertaining mix of attacking football and high-pressure encounters.

From a closely fought contest in Bani Yas to a statement victory for Al Ain, here is a look at the weekend’s results in Abu Dhabi

FC Baniyas 2 – 2 Shabab Al Ahli (Sunday 10th May 2026)

FC Baniyas earned a hard-fought and very respectable point against Shabab Al Ahli in an entertaining 2-2 draw on Sunday evening.

The visitors arrived looking to finish strong despite conceding the title last weekend to Al Ain, but the home side proved difficult to break down and showed plenty of character throughout.

Shabab Al Ahli enjoyed strong spells going forward and looked dangerous whenever they attacked, and were rewarded with an early goal in the opening ten minutes.

FC Baniyas, however, stayed competitive throughout and fought back twice. With Lionel Verde and Fawaz Awana Almesabi scoring the goals for the home team.

The home side can take confidence from this performance. Having been at the bottom of the league for the majority of the season, they now sit 8th in the table and can use the last few results as a springboard for next season.

Al Ain 5 – 0 Al Dhafra (Sunday 10th May 2026)

Al Ain continued their impressive end to the season with a dominant 5-0 victory over Al Dhafra at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

The champions controlled the match from the opening stages and produced another clinical attacking display in front of their home supporters, with their focus and determination to finish the season strong still evident, despite already securing the league title.

Sharp movement, fast passing, and relentless pressure allowed Al Ain to create chances throughout the evening, while defensively, they rarely looked troubled, with Al Dhafra offering little inspiration in the final third.

With Soufian Rahimi scoring two and UAE Pro League top goalscorer Laba Kodjo also contributing, it was a straightforward evening for the home team.
