UAE Residents Could Enjoy a Six-Day Eid Al Adha Weekend

Early forecasts indicate a potentially extended break for UAE residents this year, with Eid Al Adha in 2026 expected to deliver a prolonged period of time off.

While the exact dates will only be confirmed closer to the occasion, current projections suggest the public holiday could align to create a six-day Eid weekend.

Predicted Dates for Eid Al Adha 2026

Based on astronomical calculations, Arafat Day, which precedes Eid Al Adha, is likely to fall on Tuesday, May 26th.

The Eid holiday would then follow from Wednesday, May 27th, through to Friday, May 29th, in line with the UAE’s official public holiday structure.

This typically includes one day for Arafat Day and three days for Eid Al Adha itself, forming a four-day midweek break for those in specific sectors.

Day of Arafah

Day of Arafah, also known as Arafat Day, is an Islamic holiday that falls on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Islamic calendar.

Arafat Day commemorates a key event in the Islamic pilgrimage, and marks a day of spiritual reflection, unity, and supplication.

It is a time for Muslims globally to ask for forgiveness, engage in charity, and devote themselves to worship.

How it Could Turn into a Six-Day Weekend

If these dates hold, and with the UAE’s regular Saturday–Sunday weekend in place, residents could enjoy an uninterrupted six-day break.

That would make it one of the longest public holidays of the year, offering plenty of time to plan a getaway, book a staycation, or simply unwind at home.

Dates Still Subject to Confirmation

As with Islamic holidays, the final dates depend on the official moon sighting, which can result in slight shifts.

Despite this, early projections are often a reliable guide and provide a helpful indication of what to expect.

If confirmed, Eid Al Adha 2026 is shaping up to be a standout moment in the UAE calendar, especially for those already thinking about how to make the most of an extended break.
