Abu Dhabi is stepping up its preparedness as changing weather conditions are expected to impact the emirate between 21 and 27 March 2026, with authorities confirming a coordinated response plan is already in place.
The Department of Municipalities and Transport has activated a full-scale emergency strategy in collaboration with key partners to maintain public safety and ensure essential services continue uninterrupted throughout the period.
As part of these efforts, Emergency Operations Centres are now fully operational across Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. These centres will handle incoming reports 24 hours a day, allowing for rapid response to any issues that arise.

Round-the-clock teams and public safety measures rolled out across the emirate
On the ground, dedicated teams, including engineers, supervisors, observers, and technical staff, have been deployed, supported by heavy machinery and specialised vehicles, to address potential challenges such as water accumulation and road safety concerns.
Residents are being urged to remain cautious during this time. Authorities have advised avoiding valleys, flood-prone areas, and locations where water may collect, and following all official safety guidance issued across platforms.
The public can report any concerns, including rainwater build-up, by contacting 993, ensuring authorities can respond quickly where needed.
With systems in place and teams mobilised, the emirate is taking proactive steps to minimise disruption and keep communities safe as conditions develop.
