Air Corridors Introduced to Support Stranded Tourists and Emergency Travellers

With travel demand high across the Emirates, it has been reported that the UAE has established air corridors with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, easing the backlog.

It was announced this week that the UAE will operate 48 flights per hour to support emergency travellers in the region and restore air traffic as visitors and nationals aim to return home.

While operations are restricted, the move provides a structured pathway for some flights to take off while maintaining aviation safety.

UAE Air Corridors Open to Help Stranded Travellers Leave the Country

This week, airlines have scheduled a limited number of flights from Abu Dhabi and Dubai to destinations including London, Amsterdam, Moscow, and Riyadh.

This big step is part of wider efforts to assist passengers currently unable to leave the country.

Priority for Stranded and Emergency Travellers

Initial flights in the UAE are expected to provide support and prioritise travellers with urgent needs, such as returning for medical treatment.

Airlines will contact travellers and individuals requiring essential travel, letting them know whether they are eligible for upcoming departures.

Guidance for Travellers

As travel uncertainty continues in the city, passengers are advised to stay in contact with the airline for accurate and up-to-date information.

Those who have booked flights but have not been contacted by the airline are recommended not to travel to the airport. Aviation authorities and government channels are continuing to provide updates as often as they can.

The government has committed to supporting passengers during this time by covering accommodation costs and ensuring the necessary visa arrangements are made until travel plans are resolved.
