Abu Dhabi residents now have access to round-the-clock mental health support following the activation of a dedicated 24/7 hotline by the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi (DoH), ensuring help is always available when it is needed most.
Launched in collaboration with Sakina, a specialised mental health network operating under SEHA and part of PureHealth, the 800-SAKINA hotline (800-725462) provides confidential psychological first aid and direct access to qualified mental health professionals around the clock.
Immediate, Confidential Support for All Residents
The bilingual service operates in both Arabic and English, ensuring accessibility across the emirate’s diverse community.
Dedicated support is also available for children and families, recognising the importance of early intervention and collective wellbeing.
Residents can call the hotline for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, panic, stress, sleep difficulties, or feelings of overwhelm.
Individuals already managing existing mental health conditions can also receive advice and coping strategies during periods of increased anxiety or change.
H.E. Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of DoH, said the initiative reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to remaining close to the community by listening to concerns and responding quickly with practical solutions.
She emphasised that no concern is too small to discuss and that trusted assistance is available at any time.
By offering a safe, compassionate, and confidential space to talk, the hotline aims to ensure that no one in Abu Dhabi feels they have to face their worries alone, whether they have lived in the emirate for years or have recently arrived.
The activation of 800-SAKINA forms part of Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy to build an integrated healthcare system focused on prevention, resilience, and personalised care, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing across the community.
