Abu Dhabi authorities have issued updated travel guidance for residents and visitors in light of temporary operational changes at Zayed International Airport. These measures follow national aviation safety assessments and coordination with relevant authorities.
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has emphasized that passenger safety is the top priority and that flight schedules and airport services may be affected while conditions are monitored and reviewed.
Flight Schedule Adjustments
With the current situation, select arrivals and departures are experiencing flight cancellations in the region. These adjustments are aligned with national aviation safety protocols.
Airlines are working closely with airport authorities to manage changes efficiently and recommending that travellers contact their airline’s customer service teams for specific support.
Guidance For Travellers
During this time, passengers are strongly advised to check their flight status directly with their airline prior to departure.
Zayed International Airport released the following statement on February 28th, 2026, through their X channel.

“Abu Dhabi Airports advises that some inbound and outbound flights at Zayed International Airport (AUH) may experience delays, diversions, or cancellations due to the temporary closure of UAE airspace.
“The safety of our passengers remains our highest priority. We are working closely with airlines and relevant authorities to manage the situation and minimise disruption where possible.
“Passengers scheduled to travel today should check directly with their airline before heading to the airport.
“Further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
“Abu Dhabi Airports urges the public to obtain information from its official sources.“
