As the Holy Month settles across the capital, Abu Dhabi’s transport authorities have confirmed revised toll and parking arrangements for Ramadan. The temporary adjustments have been altered to reflect working hours, shifting traffic patterns, and the late-evening movement that typically happens this time of year.
Darb Toll Gates Peak Windows
For the duration of Ramadan, Darb toll charges will apply from Monday to Saturday during two specific peak periods:
- 08.00 AM – 10.00 AM
- 2.00 PM – 4.00 PM
The toll remains set at AED 4 per vehicle per crossing during these windows. Outside of these hours, motorists will not incur charges.

As with the standard framework, Sundays remain toll-free, offering drivers a full day without Darb fees.
The revised timings differ from the regular schedule observed throughout the rest of the year.
Authorities have aligned the new peak windows with Ramadan working patterns, where earlier finishes and afternoon travel often replace traditional rush-hour timings.
Dual Charging Periods
Public parking under Abu Dhabi’s Mawaqif system will also follow modified hours during the holy period. Paid parking will be enforced from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM and again from 9.00 PM to 2.00 AM, Monday to Saturday.

Standard parking spaces are charged at AED 2 per hour, while premium spaces are priced at AED 3 per hour. As with the toll system, parking remains free on Sundays.
The split schedule reflects the later-evening activities common during Ramadan, as residents attend prayer times, visit family, and attend Iftar gatherings.
Planning During the Holy Month
While the amendments are temporary, motorists are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated framework to avoid unexpected charges over the next few weeks.
Payments can be made through official digital channels, SMS services and parking machines located throughout the city.
