Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Returns In January With Top WTA Stars

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open returns to the UAE capital in January next year. This year’s event is once again staged at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, with the event now cementing itself as a must-watch on the global tennis calendar.

This eight-day spectacle blends world-class women’s tennis with family entertainment and off-court fun.

Who’s Playing?

While the full player roster is still rolling out, organisers have already announced exciting early commitments that set the tone for a blockbuster week of competition.

Belinda Bencic – The Swiss ace returns as the defending champion. The former World No. 4, Olympic gold medalist, and two-time Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open winner will bring flair and experience as she looks to defend her title.
Alexandra Eala – Filipino sensation and rising star of the WTA Tour will also feature in next year’s event. Fresh off a breakout run and ranked inside the Top 50, her dynamic all-court game will be great for fans to see.
Victoria Mboko – The 19-year-old Canadian could be the surprise contender. Having won the Canadian Open in the summer and beating former world no. 1 Naomi Osaka in the final, she’s a player you’ll want to watch in this year’s show.

The tournament will showcase 28 of the world’s top women’s singles players and 16 women’s doubles teams, with further big-name announcements expected in the coming weeks.
