The best part was a new resolution, under part two of UAE Cabinet Resolution No.27 of 2024. The same essentially states that if a public holiday falls on a weekend then it can be moved to allow us some time off.

Although this doesn’t apply to Eid Al Fitr or Eid Al Adha, if a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, an extra day off could be announced on the corresponding Friday or Monday.

Take a close look at the dates below and if you’re smart with your planning, you could easily club these holidays with your annual leaves enough, you could club these 12-14 days to get a grand total of 40+ days off! We have showed you how to do it at the bottom of this post!

Happy travels

UAE public holidays in 2025

January 1 2025: New Year’s Day

The first day of the year fell on a Wednesday this year, providing everyone with a midweek break to kick off 2025.

Eid Al Fitr 2025

Per the latest announcements on Ramadan 2025 dates, public and private sector workers are likely to get a three-day holiday from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3, based on moonsighting.

If Ramadan is for 30 days, the 30th day will be an official holiday added to the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

The corresponding dates on the Gregorian calendar are potentially going to be Sunday March 30 – Thursday April 3, 2025, but of course, this is pending official confirmation from authorities.

Arafat Day

Workers in the UAE across private and public sectors will also get a one-day holiday on the ninth of Dhu Al Hijjah for Arafat Day. The exact date for the holiday will be announced after the sighting of the moon, with the predicted date being Wednesday June 3.

Eid Al Adha 2025

The three days after Arafat Day – Dhu Al Hijjah 10, 11 and 12, will be a holiday to mark Eid Al Adha. While official dates will be out only closer to the date, we expect it to fall around Thursday June 4 – Sunday June 8, 2025.

Islamic New Year – one-day holiday

Workers will also get a holiday on the first day of Muharram to mark the Islamic New Year, which one expects to be on Thursday June 26, 2025.

Prophet Mohammad [PBUH] birthday

Prophet Mohammed’s [PBUH] birthday falls on the 12th day of the month of Rabi Al Awwal, on which residents can expect a one-day break.

The exact date of the holiday (predicted September 5th) will be declared only after an announcement by the moon-sighting committee.

Eid Al Etihad – December 2-3, 2025

Of course, the UAE National Day/Eid Al Etihad will offer another mid-week break to mark the end of 2025, with December 2 and December 3 falling on Tuesday and Wednesday.
