Final confirmation subject to moon sighting
Subject to Moon Sighting
As with the tradition of all Islamic holidays, the final duration of Eid Al Fitr is dependent on the sighting of the crescent moon.
In the UAE, an official moon-sighting committee made up of scholars, astronomers, and judicial authorities convenes on the 29th night of Ramadan to observe the sky after sunset. If the crescent moon is sighted, the following day is declared the first day of Eid.
While the announced dates provide a strong framework for planning, the official confirmation of Eid will follow the moon-sighting procedures closer to the time, with further announcements to be made.

Families and Friends Can Start Planning
Eid Al Fitr is one of the most significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar, marked by prayer, gatherings, and acts of charity. For many residents and visitors, it is also an opportunity to travel, enjoy staycations in the UAE, or simply spend meaningful time with their loved ones.
With the dates now confirmed, diaries can be updated, and plans can begin. Whether you’re organising a short getaway or looking forward to a well-earned rest, the Eid Al Fitr 2026 break is officially on the horizon in Abu Dhabi.
