After years of unsuccessful fertility treatment in the UK, one couple has found a reason to celebrate after travelling to Abu Dhabi for specialist IVF care.
Alison and her husband had spent more than five years navigating infertility and recurrent miscarriages. Their journey had already included five IVF attempts in the UK, along with three frozen embryo transfers, but none had resulted in a successful pregnancy.
A Fresh Start in Abu Dhabi
Hoping to explore another route, the couple came to Abu Dhabi’s SEHA’s Corniche Fertility Centre, where Alison had an existing connection with Dr Arianna D’Angelo, Consultant in Reproductive Medicine.
The team developed a treatment approach specifically around the couple’s circumstances, with care delivered by specialists across different areas of fertility medicine.
Following further treatment, they were able to transfer their first euploid embryo, and this time, the news was very different.
A Happy Milestone
The couple have now reached 13 weeks of pregnancy, with maternity care continuing at SEHA’s Corniche Hospital.
For the couple from across the waters, the experience has been about more than the treatment itself. After previous setbacks, the future mother-to-be said the support from the fertility team helped restore confidence and optimism throughout the process.
This incredible outcome highlights Abu Dhabi’s growing position in the world of reproductive healthcare. SEHA says its Corniche Fertility Centre has recorded success rates of more than 56%, placing it among centres with some of the highest reported rates internationally.
For a couple who had endured years of disappointment, their Abu Dhabi chapter has brought something rather wonderful: a healthy pregnancy and plenty of reason to look forward to what comes next.
