Etihad Arena is all set to host the region’s first-ever Spartan City Race, and here’s all you need to know!
Known for being one of the most intense and gruelling obstacle races, Spartan Middle East is now heading to Abu Dhabi once more. But this time, it’s indoors.
What are the Spartan City race formats?
The novel format will see participants take on a 3 km course featuring 15 signature Spartan obstacles inside Etihad Arena.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 20, the race has been designed with speed, intensity and accessibility in mind.
The Indoor ‘City’s race courses will be held in a climate-controlled environment of course, but there’s a small outdoor segment included as well. There are also opportunities for the kids to compete in three dedicated races.
There’s a 1km course for kids aged between four and six, a 1.5km course for ages seven to nine and a 3km course for ages nine to 14.
All those who complete the race walk away with a Spartan t-shirt, medal, and a banana post the gruelling race obstacles.
Abu Dhabi regularly hosts the annual Spartan World Championship, returning once more this November. This unique indoor format could just be your ticket to getting in some practice ahead of the outdoors!
