With a comfortable lead established, the home side controlled the game intelligently in the second half, securing three points without unnecessary risk.

Al Dhafra 1-2 Al Ain (8 January 2026)

Al Dhafra showed early promise against Al Ain at the Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium, taking the lead through Jobson Santos’s 16th-minute penalty and unsettling the visitors.

However, sustained pressure after the interval allowed Al Ain to turn the match around, with Kodjo Laba leveling the teams and Nassim Chadli scoring the winner.

Proving why they are currently top of the league, Al Ain delivered a perfect response as they sit five points clear.

Al Wahda 1-1 Sharjah (10 January 2026)

Al Wahda were forced to settle for a point after a hard-fought draw with Sharjah at Al Nahyan Stadium. The visitors opened the scoring through Gerónimo Poblete, causing a surprise situation for the second-place side.

Al Wahda responded, however, with composure rather than urgency, as Goncalo De Oliveira put the team’s score just five minutes after Sharjah took the lead.
