Abu Dhabi’s dessert scene has a sweet new addition, and it’s putting a fresh spin on a much-loved Italian classic.
Lucky 2000, the latest venture from the team behind Marmellata Bakery and Barbassi, has officially opened at Souq Al Mina, bringing a carefully curated menu of filled doughnuts to the waterfront destination.
What’s set to be a crowd pleaser, the new concept blends old-world pastry inspiration with contemporary flavours, creating treats that feel both comforting and inventive.

A Love Letter to the Zeppole
The inspiration behind Lucky 2000 is from the traditional Italian zeppole, reimagining the beloved pastry through a doughnut-focused menu.
Each creation is prepared fresh and assembled on demand, with silky fillings, aromatic toppings, and flavour combinations that celebrate both classic and regional influences.
Visitors can start with three signature offerings: cinnamon custard, strawberries & cream, and orange blossom cardamom. The menu has been designed to deliver familiar flavours while introducing subtle twists that make every bite memorable.
New Flavours Every Weekend
Part of the excitement comes from Lucky 2000’s rotating line-up of limited-edition doughnuts. Every Friday, there will be an unveiling of a fresh selection under its “Get Lucky” series, giving visitors a reason to return week after week.
Among the first special releases are flavours inspired by tiramisu and creamsicle desserts, hinting at the creative direction the team plans to explore throughout the year ahead.
For now, Lucky 2000 will operate during weekend evenings, making it an ideal stop for a post-dinner treat while exploring Souq Al Mina. If the early menu is anything to go by, this newcomer could quickly become one of Mina Zayed’s most talked-about dessert destinations.
Location: Lucky 2000, Souq Al Mina, Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi
