UAE Mosques Prepare for Bigger Congregations as the Last Friday of Ramadan Arrives

Today marks the last Friday of Ramadan across the UAE, a day that holds special meaning for Muslims during the holy month.

As the holy month approaches its final days, many are expected to attend Jumu’ah in greater numbers this afternoon.

The combination of the sacred month and an important congregational prayer of the week makes this a particularly significant moment for reflection, worship and community gatherings.

UAE Mosques Prepare for Larger Crowds on the Last Friday of Ramadan

Why The Final Friday of Ramadan Matters

The last Friday of Ramadan is considered one of the most meaningful days of the month. Fridays already hold importance, as they bring the community together for weekly congregational Jumu’ah, with many Muslims taking the opportunity to strengthen their prayers and focus on gratitude and reflection.

The last ten days of Ramadan are traditionally considered the most spiritually important. Many worshipers increase their acts of worship during this period, including additional prayers, charity, and reciting the Quran.

Mosques Across the UAE Likely to See Larger Crowds

Mosques throughout the UAE are expected to see larger congregations for Jumu’ah prayers, with those who go often arriving earlier than usual to secure space, particularly at well-known mosques.

The final Friday also marks a time when families and communities gather across the city to worship.

Eid Al Fitr Days Away

With Ramadan nearing its end, attention is gradually turning to Eid Al Fitr, the festival that marks the conclusion of the fasting month.

Before Eid Al Fitr is announced and public holidays are confirmed, the exact date will depend on the official sighting of the crescent moon. If the moon is sighted as expected, celebrations across the UAE will begin next Thursday, 19th March.

The final Friday of Ramadan is a chance to make the most of the remaining days of the holy month before the joyful celebrations of Eid begin.
