Abu Dhabi adds a meaningful event to its community calendar this month with the arrival of “Hassantak Ya Watan”, also known as “Run for the Nation”.
The 5km event invites residents of all ages and fitness levels to come together for a morning of movement, reflection, and shared purpose in one of the capital’s most symbolic settings.

A Run Rooted in National Pride
Taking place on Saturday, 18th April, the event will unfold at Wahat Al Karama, a site that stands as a tribute to the UAE’s heroes.
This selected location brings a deeper sense of significance to the run, blending physical activity with a moment of collective remembrance.
The “Run for the Nation” initiative forms part of a wider programme connected to charitable and community-focused efforts in the UAE, encouraging residents to engage in activities that promote both wellbeing and unity.
With strong participation expected, the event reflects the growing popularity of purpose-driven fitness gatherings across the city.
Designed For Everyone
The 5K distance makes it accessible whether you’re a regular runner, a casual walker, or simply looking to enjoy an active morning outdoors with family and friends.
Kicking off at 8.00 AM, participants will follow a route that highlights the surroundings while creating a shared experience centred on togetherness rather than competition.
Those interested in joining can register online ahead of the event, with organisers recommending early sign-up as spaces are expected to fill quickly.
The event is free to join, helping to overcome barriers and making it easy for more people to take part.
Abu Dhabi continues to champion community wellbeing through accessible initiatives, and “Run for the Nation” stands out as a reminder of how sport can bring people together and gives those in the city a chance to be part of something that goes beyond the finish line.
