At Saadiyat Nights, Richter will perform selections from across his repertoire, including pieces from his widely praised projects Illuminated Horizons and In A Landscape, the latter a work that reflects what the composer calls “reconciling polarities” that bring together opposites in search of harmony. Written and recorded at his minimalist, eco-conscious Studio Richter Mahr in rural Oxfordshire, In A Landscape embodies a musician in constant motion, balancing big questions about life with the quiet pleasures of living.
The live performances of the German-British composer and pianist are renowned for their emotional immediacy and immersive soundscapes, combining luminous piano melodies with pensive electronic textures.
Each piece is crafted, as he describes it, so that “nothing is there by chance; all the notes are where I carefully placed them.” His concert on Saadiyat Island will continue that tradition: a space for reflection, hope, and connection through music.
