Eid al-Fitr Prayer Times Announced in Abu Dhabi

As Ramadan comes to a close, residents are preparing for Eid celebrations, with many looking for the Eid al-Fitr prayer time in Abu Dhabi for 2026 and official updates on how prayers will be conducted across the emirate.

The country’s Moon-Sighting Committee will gather on Wednesday (March 18th, 2026) to determine the official start of Eid al-Fitr, with the decision based on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon.

While worshippers can expect the usual early morning start, there’s a notable update this year. Prayers will take place only inside mosques, as outdoor congregation areas will not be in use.

Eid Al Fitr Prayer Time in Abu Dhabi: Expected 6:43 AM Timing

Expected Eid Prayer Timings

Eid prayers are traditionally held just after sunrise, and according to the Hijri calendar, the prayer timings in Abu Dhabi City are expected to be at 6.43 am.

The exact time will be confirmed once the moon sighting is officially announced, with worshipers advised to keep an eye on local announcements for final details.

Indoor Prayers Only This Year

To ensure the smooth organisation of prayers and maintain public safety, all Eid prayers will be conducted inside mosques across Abu Dhabi.

Outdoor musallahs and large open prayer spaces will not be used, as this marks a significant change.

Authorities have confirmed that mosques in the city are prepared to accommodate worshippers, whilst urging them to follow official guidance and instructions issued.

Time and Courteousness

During this period, it’s courteous to arrive early, as mosques are expected to fill quickly due to the changes.

When you are inside, it is important to follow the guidance from the mosque’s staff on arrival.

It’s also advised that those who attend be considerate of space and other worshippers, and offer respect at all times.

During this time, Eid remains unchanged. It will always be a moment to come together, reflect, and celebrate. Whether that begins inside a mosque or more quietly at home.
