Are you ready to witness a gorgeous new addition to the Abu Dhabi skyline? Aldar just announced Fahid Island, a 40-billion-dirham megaproject slated to be the capital’s first wellness-focused coastal community.
Spanning 2.7 million square meters, Fahid Island will be home to over 6,000 high-end residences, a 10km fitness corridor, 4.6km of pristine beaches, and a dedicated waterfront promenade packed with cafes, art, and boutique stores.
Where in Abu Dhabi will Fahid Island be?
Fahid Island will be built strategically between Yas and Saadiyat islands. It’s also super accessible, being just 15 minutes from Zayed International Airport and Abu Dhabi’s cultural and leisure hubs.
The first homes to launch will be the Fahid Beach Residences, which include seven mid-rise buildings with 65 luxe apartments each. This will be followed by townhouses, ultra-luxury villas, two five-star hotels and a host of wellness, education, and retail destinations.
Nature at the forefront
Fahid Island is all about wellness, with 30 per cent of its space dedicated to nature and open landscapes.
This will also make it the world’s first Fitwel-certified island, a certification that prioritises occupant health and wellbeing in design. Additionally, a 10km Berm Park will serve as a wellness corridor with cycling routes connected to the city-wide loop.
It doesn’t end there, though, with a new school, a 2km promenade of retail and dining, and Coral Drive’s boutique boulevard just a few of the things on the horizon.
Fahid Island will also be adding to making Abu Dhabi more walkable. The plans include streetscape and pedestrian infrastructure optimised for walkability and thermal comfort through eco-conscious mobility corridors.
Smart systems for lighting, water reuse, and energy optimisation will be embedded within the island’s fabric, supporting Aldar’s broader ESG goals.
