In what proved to be a crucial weekend in the ADNOC Pro League, the Abu Dhabi clubs were involved in thrilling contests on Gameweek 22.
With teams in the city competing at both ends of the table, this weekend felt pivotal, especially for those clubs competing at the top of the league.
Al Wahda 2 – 2 Kalba (Thursday 9th April 2026)
It was a disappointing end to what looked to be a successful evening for Al Wahda, as the side dominated the first half and went in at the break with a 2-0 cushion.
However, Kalba showed resilience and, with just over twenty minutes left of normal time, scored two goals in three minutes to bring it level. Al Wahda pushed towards the end, with Dusan Tadic trying everything he could to create a winner.
FC Baniyas 1 – 1 Sharjah (Friday 10th April 2026)
Although it was only a point gained, FC Baniyas showed resilience and character to come from behind and secure a 1–1 draw against Sharjah at the Baniyas Stadium.
Still involved in a relegation battle at the bottom of the table, the result was critical, with the performance just as important as FC Baniyas look to secure their status in the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Ain 3 – 2 Shabab AlAhli (Friday 10th April 2026)
This was the fixture of the weekend and could be the title decider. It was a classic, and it took an 87th-minute winner from El Houssien Rahmi to secure the three points for Al Ain.
A game riding so much on it with both teams sitting first and second in the table, this crucial win for Al Ain now puts them four points clear with only four games left.
Al Jazira 4 – 3 Dibba (Saturday 11th April 2026)
A fighting display from Dibba took Al Jazira right until the end, but the home side took the three points and strengthened their hold on third place in an exciting 4-3 win.
With the table tightly congested, Al Jazira are currently on course to qualify for the play-off for the AFC Champions League Elite.
