Abu Dhabi authorities have announced that educational institutions across the emirate will temporarily transition to remote learning. The move, issued in line with national guidance, applies to both public and private schools as well as higher education institutions.

Ensuring Educational Continuity
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has issued that remote learning will be implemented across all schools and universities in Abu Dhabi.
The measure applies to public and private institutions within the city, and classes will be delivered through approved digital learning platforms.
The duration of the remote period will be confirmed by authorities, subject to ongoing assessments of the situation.
Guidance for Parents and Students
Families are encouraged to monitor official school communications for updates and stay informed on any new guidance issues. Any changes to assessments will be communicated directly by institutions.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research released the following statement on February 28th, 2026, through their X channel.
“The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that studies will shift to distance learning from Monday, 2 March 2026, until Wednesday, 4 March 2026, for students and teaching and administrative staff across all public and private schools and universities nationwide.
“The situation will be continuously assessed during the week, and the period may be extended if required depending on developments”
