Global star John Cena is heading to the capital this September, where he’ll be one of the headline guests at Middle East Film & Comic Con 2026 (MEFCC).
What You Need to Know About Comic Con?
Comic Con in the Middle East is the annual celebration of all things pop culture, bringing together fans of movies, television, anime, manga, gaming, comics, and much more under one roof.
The event has become one of the region’s biggest gatherings for fans, with celebrity appearances sitting alongside cosplay, workshops, screenings, and plenty of opportunities to meet your heroes and discover something new.
The 2026 edition will be the convention’s 14th, with more than 46,000 fans expected to descend on Abu Dhabi this year.
Why Is John Cena Going?
Cena is heading to the capital as one of its headline celebrity guests, giving fans the chance to see the WWE icon in person.
His career has stretched well beyond the wrestling ring, with the 17-time world champion going on to become a familiar face on the big screen in films including The Suicide Squad and Bumblebee.
At Comic Con, fans will be able to get closer to the stars through signings, photographs and, if they have the courage, conversations.
Who Else Is Attending?
Cena is joining a growing guest list that includes Mackenyu, known for playing Roronoa Zoro in Netflix’s One Piece, and Joonas Suotamo, who portrayed Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and appeared as Lurch in Wednesday.
The best news for those planning to go is that more A-list guests are expected to be revealed closer to the event.
Are Tickets Still Available?
Comic Con is set for the weekend between 11 and 13 September at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, with Cena appearing on Saturday and Sunday.
VIP tickets have sold out, but standard passes remain available, with Friday tickets priced at AED 160 and Saturday tickets priced at AED 190.
With the Hollywood giant joining the line-up, Middle East Film & Comic Con 2026 is shaping up to be a pretty unmissable weekend for Abu Dhabi’s pop-culture crowd.
