A new city break is now within easier reach, as Etihad Airways launches special fares from Abu Dhabi to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

The new route is set to take off on 9 August 2026, connecting the UAE capital with a destination known for its grand architecture, historic Silk Road influences and lively food scene.

The airline has revealed a schedule from 09 August. Flight EY 830 departs Abu Dhabi at 09.10 pm, while Flight EY 831 leaves the capital at 3.35 am.

Why Tashkent Is Becoming Increasingly Popular

Tashkent combines centuries of Silk Road history with the energy of a modern capital. Wide boulevards, colourful markets, striking architecture and leafy parks make it an easy city to explore over a few days.

Highlights include the historic Khast-Imam Complex, Chorsu Bazaar and Amir Timur Square, alongside museums, galleries and a growing dining scene. The city also serves as a convenient starting point for exploring more of Uzbekistan, with direct train connections making it easy to add a trip to Samarkand and its spectacular mosques, mausoleums, and tiled monuments.
