Abu Dhabi will be hosting Athar Festival this week, celebrating the spirit of generosity and giving.
Taking place from 25th March to 29th March, the event is designed to bring families and friends together through engaging experiences while highlighting the power of giving back.

What is the Athar Festival
Organised by Awqaf Abu Dhabi, Athar Festival is centred around community, connection, and the importance of generosity and charitable giving.
Tied to the ‘Year of the Family’, this festival promotes family cohesion and social unity, offering visitors a diverse programme of shows, entertainment experiences, and creative workshops.
Local entrepreneurs and small businesses also have the opportunity to promote their brands and offer attendees the chance to shop and enjoy some retail pleasure.
A Festival with Purpose
Athar Festival isn’t just about entertainment; it’s a five-day event that supports a larger cause.
The festival’s approach reflects the enduring spirit of generosity embedded in UAE society. This advances Abu Dhabi’s vision of mobilising the community and the business sector to deliver long-term social impact.
His Excellency Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of Awqaf Abu Dhabi, said: “The Athar Festival is a unique platform for endowment, turning community engagement and family celebration into sustainable giving with real societal impact. Endowment ensures lasting impact and long-term empowerment for orphans as opposed to temporary support.”
When and Where
The event is taking place at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island. Known for its art exhibitions and cultural gatherings, this cultural hub is an ideal setting for a community festival.
Running for five days, the first day of the festival kicks off on Wednesday, 25th March and concludes on Sunday, 25th March.
